Milk Allergies

Milk Allergies

Milk allergies are a very common phenomenon. If you have been experiencing allergy symptoms like itchy skin and eyes, excessive sneezing, etc, it just might be that milk and other dairy products are the culprit behind them. When trying to identify a milk allergy, the following symptoms will guide you. Typically, cow milk allergy symptoms arise from the protein contained in the milk.

Is Your Infant Showing Milk Allergy Symptoms?

When Might the Symptoms Show?

Infants may experience symptoms at either of 2 times.

  1. Immediately post feeding - Speedy onset
  2. Seven to ten days post consumption of the cow milk protein - Slow Onset

Rapid Onset

The reactions that come with rapid onset include milk allergy symptoms like:

  • Irritability
  • Wheezing
  • Swelling, itchy skin bumps, and hives
  • Blood-filled diarrhea

Rare occurrences may involve anaphylaxis. This is an intense allergic condition which can potentially affect and damage the baby's stomach, blood pressure, breathing, and skin. However, anaphylaxis is frequently known to occur with food allergy cases other than milk allergy.

Slow Onset

Such reactions are more commonly known to take place. Reactions like these are more complicated to identify as the symptoms are identical to those of other health problems. The majority of kids outgrow such allergy by the age of two. Symptoms involve:

  • Loose motion stool which may contain blood
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Gagging
  • Rash breakout on skin
  • Colic or Irritability

Survive the Hay Fever Season

Survive allergies with Homeopathy
The most common hay fever season is spring time.
This is when people with these sensitivities reach their peak. It’s common for windy weather to make matters worse for hay fever sufferers. Especially dry winds. Moist winds tend to be less of a problem as the moisture attaches to the pollen. But dry winds stir up the pollen and dust, creating a dense, if unseen laden atmosphere. And yet spring time is a wonderful time. There’s new life about, fresh colours, warmth of the sun and much needed bright light after a dull winter. How can those with hay fever appreciate this season more? Read More >
